NEW YEAR IN MONTANA

We started the year adventurous, driving with our 11 month old to Montana to visit Dan's family. Before we got completely on the road we took a slight detour to visit our good friend Caitlin and her beautiful daughter Elle. Though the visit was short and definitely incomplete without Dave, we enjoyed them both.

Once we filled up on caffeine we hit the treacherous pass slowly. Fortunately we had chains and made it safely over the pass. Eastern WA was, well, as it always is flat and boring. We stopped in Courde' lane, ID for some dinner and then the drive got worse. We made it over Fourth of July Pass but decided not to tempt Lookout Pass until the morning. After searching ski towns for a hotel we settled with Wallace, ID and had a great stay. The next morning we finished our trip with excitement as we pulled up to Paka's house.

Off to the sauna we go!

Our first night at Paka and Tita's. Going to see Dad at the sauna.

Dan and JD outside the sauna by the creek.
Only Dan, Jen....only Dan!
We spent our few days visiting with friends and family. Sledding, skiing (on the sled hill), saunaing, and hiking filled the days. Most of all it was just wonderful enjoying everyone.

Loving Uncle Gabe

JD's first time sledding and he loved it!

Those crazy kids with their sleds and skis.

I have never seen cousins play so hard. They chased each other all over the house!

Dan, James, Gabe and I went for a great hike. Well, hiking up was not exactly uuuuummmmmm, enjoyable (well, for me) but the view and slide down was fun! At the top you could see the valley and hear the coyotes yipping.

Night Night Tita.
